Ain't Telling The Truth Tour

Bluejuice are dainty fellows. They know how to set a dining table, and they know the call of a rainbow lorikeet when they hear one. They're too polite to take the last hors doeuvre, and they walk on the outside of a footpath to protect their lady-friends from a vehicular drenching on a rainy day. Bluejuice are your seats down, coats around, and doors open type of guys.

Its a shame then that these suggestions of good manners boil away to nothing in the face of a deep-seated psychological need to lie. They lie to their grandmothers. They lie to their Chihuahuas. They lie to their manager about writing relevant press releases.

Bluejuice's new single Ain't Telling The Truth is an homage to their passion for the lie. The only thing truthful about the song is the title that it ain't telling the truth. Its one of those songs with a descriptive title (much like Stevie Winwoods Valerie was most likely about someone named Valerie). It is the second single from their second album Head Of The Hawk.

But the real truth is that the single follows the giant success of Broken Leg which picked up an ARIA nomination for Breakthrough Song of the Year and hit the #5 slot on the worlds biggest music poll Triple Js Hottest 100. The video scored Video of the Year nods from Rage, Myspace and iTunes and it has sold more than a whopping 50,000 copies and still going strong.

And from March 31st through to until May 9th the band will take that mix of manners and miss-truths and The Holidays on the road with the Ain't Telling The Truth Tour proudly presented by Nova, Video Hits, and Myspace.

SIZZLING 2010

Having attained a well-earned ARIA Award loss for Top 40 hit, Broken Leg, Bluejuice have big plans for 2010. Despite their pasty complexions, their complete rejection of shorts as a fashion item, and their general reluctance to go outside for any reason, the band have decided to spend summer touring the sizzling Australian countryside.

"Sizzling 2010" is a mini music fiesta also featuring their pals Yves Klein Blue, The Jezabels, and White Birds & Lemons, which will allow all members to throw off the shackles of their debilitating inner city paranoia and embrace the sunny delights of regional Australia.

Check out the 'tours page for details.

We've been nominated for an ARIA!

Bluejuice have spent their few weeks off arguing about who they'd prefer to take out for a meal: Hulk Hogan or Kenny Sutcliffe. The Hulk would have some great tips on kneading a man's face, but one gets the impression that Kenny is a real smooth dancer. You see where the conundrum lies.

Anyway, in case you were unaware, the band just released their second album, 'Head Of The Hawk', which debuted at #37 on the ARIA charts! It's full of melody and rhythm and harmony, and most other things found in anthropological studies of Western popular music (like the rhyming of 'baby' with 'maybe', and 'fly' with 'so high'). The band are very proud of this album. It's a "ball-tearer", as Jamie's Dad might say. Anyway, the music industry folk seem to agree as we've just been nominated for a couple of ARIAs! We're nominated for Best Breakthrough Single for 'Broken Leg', as well as Best Video for 'Broken Leg'. You can watch Channel Nine on Thursday 26th November to see if we've won.

Bluejuice are SO proud of this album that they're putting up with each other's vile body odours and increasingly obvious mental deficiencies and hitting the road in honour of 'Head Of The Hawk'. Each gig will begin with a sombre prayer session and an animal sacrifice to a 10x10ft CD art mockup, and the band will perform in a boiling cauldron*, the contents of which will be served to the non-vegetarian members of the audience at the end. The band members, of course, will be dead after one show, but for such a cause! It's going to be religious, motherf*ckers. For all the dates, visit the Tours page.

Pagan holiday fans also will have noticed that Bluejuice's show at the Metro in Sydney falls on Halloween. Given that drummer James Hauptmann is the son of both an exorcist and a pirate, the band feel it would be appropriate if the audience dress up in their finest Zombie French Maid regalia (or approximations thereof). So if you have any Mummy bandages, feel free to don them.

See you at a show!

The Team

There's no 'I" in "Team". The media glare has so far focused on "Mr Invisible" and "Venom", the star skippers of Team Bluejuice, the rock stars of the skpping world, famous for their musical side projects, fragrance and apparel lines and turbulent love lives. Now, we introduce the other members that make Team Bluejuice so great - Jerry "The Hammer", aka "Pistons", James "Wizard" Jackson and Lawrence Mailer aka Larry Lightfoot aka The Golden Pony, thought by some to be the greatest skipper to ever live.

The Leg Move

It is the most difficult move you can ever perform in skipping. Allegedly invented by skipping legend Spiradon "Mr Invisible" Savvas in Cyprus, the move has stumped even the best skippers in the world. It was also the downfall of Team Bluejuice in the 1985 World Skipping Championships. For their final routine, Team Bluejuice pulled out the big gun - The Broken Leg. Unfortunately, it didn't quite go to plan...

The Story of Mr Invisible

What drives the man that has turned the skipping world upside down? How did he become so great? In this telling behind the scenes look at the life Spiradon Savvas, the viewer is given some indication of what it takes to achieve such greatness. A must watch for any aspiring skipper.

The Arthur Penington Story

He's a kid from the streets, saved by the world of skipping. As a kid hanging out at "The Jump" in western Sydney, Arthur "Venom" Penington discovered skipping, and it was to change his life. As a child prodigy, he succumbed to the fast life of a champion roper - the women, the drugs and the hedonistic lifestyle. He triumphed through it all, introduced his street-style roping to the conservative skipping world, and became one of the most famous and accomplished skippers in the world.

World Skipping Championships

Two of Australia's premiere skip ropers, Spiradon 'Mr Invisible' Savvas and Arthur 'Venom' Penington, put aside their dislike of each other and united to lead Team Bluejuice into the World Skip Rope Championships. Their opponents - Shimmer Extreme, the young guns. It was a battle for the history books, one that is still spoken about to this day.
